Sound and Light Show at Philae Temple — Overview
After dark, the island temple of Isis at Philae becomes the stage for one of Egypt's most romantic evening spectacles. The experience begins with a short motorboat ride across the Nile to Agilkia Island — the very island to which the entire temple complex was moved, block by block, during the great UNESCO rescue of the 1960s and 70s — where floodlit pylons and colonnades rise out of the darkness to meet you.
As you walk through the temple, the voices of gods and pharaohs tell the legend of Isis and Osiris — the goddess who gathered the scattered body of her husband and brought him back to life — the myth that made Philae one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the ancient world. Dramatic lighting picks out the carved reliefs and towering gateways, and the temple feels entirely transformed from the daytime.
The final part of the show is seated, as music and projected light play across the ancient stone and the still water around the island. With private transfers from your hotel or cruise ship and the motorboat crossing arranged for you, it is a seamless and unforgettable way to end a day in Aswan.

Best For
Couples, families and photography lovers looking for an atmospheric evening, and anyone who has visited Philae by day and wants to see it in a completely different light. It pairs beautifully with a daytime tour of Aswan — the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae itself — turning a single day into a memorable day-to-night experience. The mix of a boat ride, a floodlit walk and a seated finale makes it engaging for all ages.
